In a world where only one pocket of land survived the international nuclear war, the dictator Coltrane now controls society. There are chips in each person’s brain that emits chemicals responding to their actions. After the war, society has changed and the people are constantly preparing for the next nuclear war. Percy, however, isn’t affected by the drugs and cannot understand how the other people enjoy their lives. Percy feels alone so he walks through the forest, very near to the boundary, where he meets a man named Obi Juan. Obi Juan is also not affected by the drugs and starts to explain the truth about society and Coltrane. Percy must reveal the truth to society and venture past the boundaries of his city-state. How far will he go to take down Coltrane?
